Foot & Ankle Physical Therapy

Discovery Call

You don’t have to keep working around foot or ankle pain.

If something feels stiff, unstable, or persistently sore, it usually means your system isn’t adapting well — not that you need to push through or “stretch more.”

If you're in Cary, Apex, Raleigh, or Holly Springs and wondering whether foot and ankle physical therapy is the right next step, a short conversation can help clarify what’s driving your symptoms and whether a focused, movement-based approach makes sense for you.

Evaluation/treatment corner where we get to know more about you and help you recover.

What to Expect in a Foot & Ankle Evaluation:

Foot and ankle pain rarely exists in isolation — which is why your evaluation looks beyond the site of symptoms.

Every session is one hour and fully individualized. Your initial foot and ankle evaluation typically includes:

• Detailed history and goals
• Movement analysis (including dynamic gait assessment when appropriate)
• Assessment of foot and ankle mobility, strength, and load tolerance
• Balance and stability testing
• Discussion of contributing factors up the chain, including hips and pelvis

Treatment may include targeted strengthening, mobility work, manual therapy, and progressive loading strategies designed to restore lasting function — not just temporarily reduce pain.

Foot & Ankle Therapy

Chronic Foot/ankle pain stemming from common conditions like:

  • Bunions

  • Plantar Fasciitis (heel pain)

  • Ankle Sprains

  • Ankle & Foot Tendonitis

  • Metatarsalia

  • Neuromas

  • Achilles Tendinopathy

  • Flat Feet/Arch Concerns

Conservative management doesn’t just mean orthotics and cushioned shoes. Through a thorough evaluation we can determine active ways to reduce your pain and improve function.

  • Calf and foot strengthening

  • Ankle and foot mobility work

  • Hip/pelvic mobility

  • Toe strengthening

  • Balance/stability work

  • Technique correction (runners, dancers)

And yes — incorporating play, variability, and a little FUN along the way. Resilience builds better when movement isn’t just corrective, but engaging.

A dancer's releve strength comes through working different angles and ranges.

Dynamic Gait Assessment:

Walking & Running Analysis

Not everyone walks in thinking they have a “foot injury.” Sometimes it just feels like:

  • You move inefficiently

  • You’ve been told you “walk wrong”

  • You keep dealing with recurring soreness

  • Your shoes or orthotics feel like the only thing holding you together

A Dynamic Gait Assessment is still a comprehensive evaluation — viewed through the lens of how you load, transfer force, and move during walking or running.

This option is ideal if you want movement analysis first — even if you're not sure you “need PT.”

Dynamic gait assessments look at ways to make you more efficient, reducing pain and improving performance. There is no right or wrong way to walk.

Virtual Sessions

Foot and ankle rehab doesn’t always require in-person care.

Virtual sessions are a great option if you:

• Live outside of Cary or surrounding areas
• Travel frequently
• Want guidance using your own home equipment
• Prefer a movement-based approach rather than repeated passive care

Virtual visits still include movement assessment, strength programming, gait discussion, and progressive loading strategies — just delivered in your own space, with your own equipment.

Most virtual clients seek support for:
• Persistent foot or ankle pain
• Transitioning away from orthotics
• Running-related concerns
• Ongoing strengthening after an in-person evaluation
